☆ So, What is Chiropractic, Really?
After reading me, you should be able to tell in simple words, what Chiro really is to your partner, your grandma or your 6 year old baby toddler.
Definition 6 year old baby could understand
Chiropractic fixes problems with your bones, muscles, and nerves to reduce pain, improve mobility and function. It uses surgery, drug-free hands-on treatments like adjusting the spine and moving stiff joints.
Definition taught in University, Week 6 of my Chiro Lecture
A health profession concerned with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system, and the effects of these disorders on the function of the nervous system and general health. There is an emphasis on manual treatments including spinal adjustment and other joint and soft-tissue manipulation.
World Federation of Chiropractic, 2001
At its core, chiropractic strengthens the relationship between your spine and nervous system.
Think of your spine as the central highway for all the messages your brain sends to your body.
When that highway gets jammed or misaligned (hello, subluxations!), your body can’t function at its best. Cue the superhero entrance: chiropractors! —
Chiropractors are trained professionals who use gentle adjustments to align your spine, clear the traffic jams, and help your body heal naturally.
No invasive treatments. No prescriptions. Just your body doing what it was designed to do: self-healing.
